"Gauntlets from hardened leather"
actualy not for sale
Once, someone has pleced an order for leather gloves.
After countless experiments – here’s what I’ve created. Hardened with water,
makes them almost as thick and hard as wood.
This kind of leather, looses it’s flexibility and is more breakable....therefore
it can last about one or two years. Depending of what kind of weapons you’d use...
Naturally, this weapon would be a wooden sword, because they were never supposed to protect you
from steel, they’re not hard enough.
As you can see, the glove closes very tightly, hiding and protecting the fingers.
The length of the last fauld is my idea rather to hide your thumb in there rather than a mistake
(which it is often is seen as). The thumb itself is very big, and I’m thinking about having a one
like this in my own gloves which I use for steel (it has less parts and is ultra-hard).
The strips have can be regulated – just unravel them and sew on a desired length
(I decided that buckles are easily damaged and uncomfortable)
Can be used for:
Training ARMA, wood – sparings
Soft, light gloves for LARP players
"Hardened Bracers"
price: 50€
(£31 or 62$)
Protective bracers hardened with water. Lined with felt, as not to harm soldier’s delicate skin
with their harsh material. The same purpose is the one of the lining around the wrists.
Their thickness is demonstrated in one of the pictures, where a few weights (5kg altogether)
are trying to distort their shape, with no success... seriously.... there wasn’t even one thing
distorted there. They’re just tough guys, that’s it.
Some cracks and scrathes can be avoided but
I can’t promise anything.
"Leather arms"
price: 100€ and more
(£63 or 126$)
Leather arms. The advantages of these beauties, are mainy low weight and speed -
they are as fast as little lightnings. The elbow is protected with metal, so it won’t brake.
As for the rest, the protection isn’t outstanding, even though the leather is very thick, 4-5mm.
I’ve been fighting in arms like these since 2001 and my own ones are safe and sound.
A bruise can occur from time to time.
For the ladies, I imagine a model with lace lining :P
"Leather kneepads"
price: 75€
(£47 or 95$)
Kneepads. Similarly as above, but with one protection pocket.
If anyone wishes I can make more faulds. I can even draw a little elephan on every each of
them :) or a giraffe... whatever you like.
"Leather bevor placed under the salade"
price: 48€
(£30 or 60$)
Made of very thick leather (4-5mm), but very hard facing.
It’s so hard that in the front it can’t be bent more than 2-3cm.
I recommend this as a substitute of a metal clavicle. Naturally it’s lighter and more comfortable.
If you wish, I can make a few modifications so it can be eg. Attached to the epaulets, strapped to
something...whatever you’ll have on you.
Be aware, those stuff are not historical at all. :>
"Leather bevor placed under War Hat"
price: 48€
(£30 or 60$)
This chin is a maille coif version. It’s a bit higher and reaches a bit over your nose.
The same technology as above.
"Crotch protector"
price: 32€
(£20 or 40$)
What does an armoured crotch protector do, I don’t think I have to explain.
If you happen to see that someone, during the fight suddenly falls silent, and stands still and
than with a slowly but proudly walks off the battle field, it means that something really bad
happened to him. Something rare, but possible to happen.
Therefore I invite all future fathers to buy this. Made of a very thick 4-mm (hardened) sole leather.
Very light, and doesn’t limit your movements. I’ve been wearing the prototype for the whole day
and it didn’t cause any problems. Fastened on a belt in 4 places: two leather straps going from
the crotch, then below and to the sides, attached to the belt on the sides, on the hips and two
straps in the front, up. After untying it on the front, it hangs comfortably on the knee-level and
sways there.
It is not historical at all...
"Bow brace"
price: 10€
(£6,5 or 13$)
A bow bracer as shown, or a different one.
In this version it’s historical...it must’ve been used by the english archers between
XIV and XV cent.
"Hardened bow brace"
price: 15€
(£9,5 or 19$)
A bow bracer hardened with extra leather straps.
The main part has a long leather strap sewn on it and under it. All in all,
there are three thick leather straps protecting the arm from the chord.
The thickest part is of even 1cm. All hand-sewn with twine.
